Multi Use: Liquid Lipstick as Blush

I mentioned in my Cloud Paint review that you can get a similar effect using a silicone-based liquid lipstick, and I’d demonstrated it on my instagram already, so I thought I might as well share it here as well. This works with regular lipstick as well – it’s kind of the oldest trick in the book – but gel-formula lip products are a little easier to blend. I’m using the Maybelline Vivid Matte liquid lipstick in #15 Electric Pink, which in spite of its name isn’t matte at all.

I just dab it on and blend it out with my fingers. I’m sure you can use a brush too – I just hate washing brushes and avoid using them when I can. These liquid lipsticks I used are silicone-based, just like the Glossier Cloud Paints, so the effect is very similar. And like the Cloud Paint, a little goes a long way so a few drops is more than enough. Unlike powder blush, liquids and creams give a kind of luminous finish that sort of melts into your foundation nicely.
