Weekend, #7

It’s been a few actual weekends since last! I’m trying to avoid making too many posts like this, it’s not really what I want this blog to be defined by. But a listicle once in a while isn’t too bad. Here’s issue 7 of Weekend.

Niels Peeraer SS16

I stumbled across a photo from an Opening Ceremony store, spotted some outrageously cute purses on a shelf, fell in love with them and googled myself to find the designer. His name is Niels Peeraer, and he makes the most wonderful leather accessories with just the right level of cuteness, chicness and cheeky fetishistic undertones. Niels, If you’re reading this, give me a call.

CoverGirl selects their first hijabi spokesperson. It’s about time!

I’ve fallen in love with yet another luxury perfume – Monsieur by Bruno Jovanovic for Frederic Malle. I like men’s fragrances, and being a modern woman I oppose the idea of gendering smells to begin with. Either way, this smells like one of those corny gentlemen’s club with leather armchairs and straight liquor. I want to bathe in it.

BECCA is launching in Sweden, I’m so glad! Unfortunately, it looks like it will take a while for the whole range to arrive. The first products are from the Jaclyn Hill collab, and a handful of Shimmering Skin Perfectors.

The “menswear” trend in women’s fashion is so chic and lovely. I love a suit, especially these by Céline.

I mentioned Sali Hughes new book, Pretty Iconic, a while back – I just finished it and loved it. It’s a love letter to cult beauty products. You can read an edited excerpt (with beautiful photos) here.

Lancome looks like they’re launching a blush that looks like a real rose this spring. It’s so ridiculous and I want it. I’ll take anything that will make me feel like some sort of extravagant, vain queen from an ancient culture.

Finnish beauty brand Lumene is finally expanding their shade range outside the realm of beige.
